Mina Phebus

Mina was born in South Korea, where she completed her Master’s degree in English Education and a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature. She has over 25 years of experience in various English Education endeavors. Mina Phebus was appointed as the Executive Director of the Ozark Literacy Council (OLC) in 2023, following her service as Interim Executive Director, Program Director for 14 years, and various other roles at Ozark Literacy Council since 2007. 

Mina’s approach to leading OLC is an emphasis on building a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere that makes a positive impact on the lives of our students and the community. As a former OLC student and immigrant, Mina has firsthand knowledge of the challenges faced by our students and a deep understanding of the educational needs of our organization. Her passion for literacy and desire to help newcomers feel a sense of belonging makes her uniquely qualified to lead OLC and make a difference in our diverse community.
