“My name is Rosine Djere, and this is my second year in Fayetteville, Arkansas. I’m from Chad (Central Africa). I am a native French speaker. I am married, but we don’t have children yet. I got my college degree in Chad. My major was Human Resources. I would like to pursue a degree in law at the University of Arkansas – Fayetteville. I always had an ambition to study and progress very far, which is why I’m taking paralegal classes at NWACC, preparing me to get into [law school at] the University of Arkansas – Fayetteville. My source of inspiration is Michelle Obama. She inspires me, and I am determined to be like her, by the grace of God and by my efforts.

“I was born into a large family of six children, 3 girls and 3 boys. I come in second position, and I’m a twin. On December 21, 2018, [my husband and I left our families in Chad and] arrived in New York City. We lived in Connecticut for 3 weeks. On January 11, 2019, we arrived in Fayetteville, Arkansas. In the same month, I began English classes at Ozark Literacy Council. On May 28, 2020, I began paralegal classes at the NWACC and now I am preparing for the LSAT for law admission. Ozark Literacy is my second home – every day I am studying here!”

Rosine will earn her Associates degree in paralegal studies next May. She is hoping to apply for law school next year. She will take her LSATs in November.
